“I Have been riding for a little over 50 years, and this tank bag is the one that is "just right" 1. Keeps water ice cold for ~8 hours: It may keep it cold longer, but above 95 deg, I drink the entire contents prior to 8 hrs.. It effectively Keeps the heat fatigue away. 2. Just the right size: Tank bags are either convenient (too small) or luggage (too big). Compound that with access issues getting gas 3-4 times a day. The Thirsty rock Hydration tank bag is just right. Holds a lot of water and just enough extra space for convenient essentials. I purchased the off road version on advice from dan and attached a clear full size map case.. My bike has a non-metal tank, so the thirsty rock zip-tied to a kriega tank mount. note, this set up provides sufficent space for my maps and is super convenient getting gas. “Like many here I consider myself an experienced rider having done 300K km since getting back into bikes 10 years ago. But I’m still learning. This is what I learnt on my latest ride across eastern Australia in unseasonally hot early autumn weather 1) Think about cooling and hydration when doing long rides (5 days, 3K km) in heat (37oC/98oF +). My suggestion, a Macna cooling vest, a Thirsty Rock hydration tank bag, and an electrolyte supplement such as Hydralyte 2) Avoid riding in the hottest part of the day 3 – 6 pm. Leave as early as possible, but not too early when nocturnal animals like kangaroos & wombats are still about. Also diurnal animals like emus, feral goats & camels are harder to see in low light. 3) When planning to leave early think about the direction your going in. If you’re heading east over flat featureless ground and a clear sky the rising sun can be blinding. Leave an hour after sunrise or as we did the first time we were blinded by the sun, pull over and wait.”

“I SAW this system at the BMW-MOA rally in June 2023 and had to have one. This system is a game changer for those of us who ride in hot weather. water is essential, but I usually only drank when I stopped and got water from my saddlebag. Dehydration happens before you know it and I've suffered the effects many times because I didn't want to stop. I used this bladder on the way back from VA to TX and loved it. I also used it on a 1 month 6850 mile trip this summer. I cannot encourage you strongly enough to get this system. it's the best addition to how I set my bike up for trips. I won't be without it. And now I'm ordering one for one of my riding buddies for Christmas. Bottom line: it's what you need.”

“I'VE USED THIS NOW FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS (DURING THE HOTTEST DAYS OF THIS VIRGINIA SUMMER) AND I AM AMAZED AT HOW COLD THE WATER STAYS FOR THE ENTIRE DAY. It fits easily on my k1600 with no interference with the handlebars and fuel cap. I can drink while riding, although it is a bit challenging with my full helmet. The bladder is easy to fill, so even if I'm just taking a short 2 hour ride, I'll fill it with ice and water. And yes, some might say I installed it "upside down", but the straps worked out better this way.”

Staying hydrated, especially during the hot Virginia summers, is my #1 priority. My go to solution up until now has been my trusty CAMELBACK. If you like drinking warm water an hour or so into your ride, and don’t mind a sweaty back, then the CamelBack is for you. If this doesn’t sound appealing, I highly recommend that you check out this product. The workmanship is superb and installation was a snap. With a three liter capacity, you have plenty of fluid available for a full day of riding. For those who ride bikes with plastic vice steel tanks, like my BMW R1200RT, you can use the included straps, or you can add a little steel (fender washers) and take advantage of the included magnets. “Just finished my second cross country roadtrip with the Thirsty Rock bag. Having constant ready access to water was a game changer. The last day was a. Barn burner from Ames IA to Denver in 105* plus heat, and the “Rock” never faltered. Filled it with ice in the morning, and again in Kearney NE. So nice to have cool water on demand. Bought mine after seeing it at the National Road Glide Rally in Tahoe, and don know how i rode without it before. A lot easier with a modular helmet, bur having fluids in the heat is critical. “Just purchased this bag during the 2022 sturgis rally. While driving to the rally it was 106f in ForsyTh, mt. While riding back to alberta temp’s reached mid 90’s. This bag was awesome in that it held ice for most of the day, the 3 lite bag is a great size to have, its easy to fill with the large opening and the magnets hold baG in place easily on the Tank. Also if going into a store or RESTAURANT to eat, super simple To remove and take with you or stow away on bike. The covered, RETRACTABLE hose is easy to use and my passenger can easily drink as well as the Awesome product. hose is long enough.”

“If I could give 10 stars, I would! The quality and craftsmanship that went into the design and production of the tank bag is exceptional. So sturdy! Clips, fabric, hose all are solid quality. No flimsy shortcuts went into this bag. As for customer service, Dan contacted me almost daily even on weekends and after regular business hours when I ordered my bag within days of my bike trip. He assured me it would get to me in time, and it did, With 2 days to spare! I just cannot say enough good about this product and this company. I will recommend this to every biker i know and see. “AbsoluteLY 5 STARS FOR THE TANK BAG, IT KEEPS WATER COLD FOR A SHOCKING AMOUNT OF TIME. i EVEN TAKE MINE FISHING NOW FOR A LITTLE WATER BAG, IT'S MORE CONVENIENT THAN A CAMELBAK TO ME. MY ONLY GRIPE IS THAT ONE OF THE PLASTIC BUCKLES DID MANAGE TO SCRATCH MY CLEAR COAT ON MY TANK, BUT MY BIKE HAS NOTORIOUSLY SOFT PAINT ACCORDING TO THE FORUMS. “i have ridden all over new mexico, colorado, nebraska, south dakota, and wyoming with mine now and i love it. it is very easy to refill with ice and water when you stop to fuel up. it has rubbed my paint where it rides on the tank which is the only reason i didn't give it 5 stars. i would recommend some vinyl or adhesive paint protection on top of your tank before using it. that aside, it's great.”
